Where We Do: Approach
How we work to reach sustainable outcomes.
Approach
RDPP works closely with national and local actors through a rights-based strategy that bridges humanitarian aid and development, aiming to address the long-term displacement of Syrians in Lebanon and Jordan. The programme works almost exclusively through civil society in partnership with local authorities and private sector entities, combining protection and development solutions in integrated, long‐term projects.
The programme’s focus is on strengthening local capacities and ownership: it funds and supports national NGOs, community groups, and relevant institutions to lead on self‐reliance initiatives, rather than imposing external models. By aligning with host‐country priorities and global frameworks (e.g. the Global Compact on Refugees), RDPP ensures that interventions enhance protection, promote socio‐economic inclusion – especially of women and youth – and build sustainable solutions.
Our approach ensures that RDPP stays context-sensitive and adaptable to changing realities on the ground. It highlights that the most effective solutions to displacement are those shaped and implemented by the people closest to the communities they serve.
