Protection

RDPP III is guided by the principles of participation, accountability, non-discrimination and equality, empowerment and legality. RDPP puts special emphasis on gender equality, protection, participation, and partner-/community-led responses that support the roll out of Human Rights Based Approach.

RDPP III has integrated a considerable protection component into its portfolio, aiming to support those who are discriminated against, excluded from services, suffer from poor government accountability, and are vulnerable to shocks and crises. It focuses on the needs, rights, and dignity of Syrian refugees as well as local communities in both Lebanon and Jordan.

Through locally driven analysis with a human rights focus, RDPP partners identify the specific risks faced by different groups and respond with tailored approaches. To improve access to rights, RDPP III works closely with national service providers and other institutions, helping them become more accountable to vulnerable refugees and host communities. Women and youth are a particular focus especially disempowered women, survivors of gender-based violence, and children engaged in labour.
