Thematic Focus: Livelihood
Helping people access work and self-sufficiency
Livelihood
A core RDPP theme is boosting safe, sustainable livelihood opportunities for refugees and vulnerable hosts. The programme invests in employability and enterprise linking people to jobs and markets. The interventions include supporting small businesses and home‐based enterprises, providing vocational and business development skills, and engaging the private sector to create decent jobs and economic independence.
This multi-pronged approach from internships and apprenticeships to microcredit and financial training is designed to boost household incomes and resilience while closing market gaps. RDPP’s strategy promotes “decent, economically viable, and sustainable livelihoods” through partnerships with private firms, NGOs, and local authorities, broadening the economic foundation for durable solutions. By strengthening both individuals and enterprises, RDPP reinforces local economies and supports stabilisation efforts. Focus is placed on vulnerable women and youth, helping them move into formal, rights-based participation in the labour market.
