Capacity Development

Building the capacity of local partners is a cross-cutting RDPP priority. Rather than offering short‐term training, RDPP provides tailored, partner-driven support that aligns with each organization’s own vision and operational needs. Grantees receive hands-on mentoring, coaching, and organisational strengthening – for example, in financial management, monitoring & evaluation, advocacy, or service delivery – which allows them to take fuller ownership of their projects.

Importantly, RDPP allocates overhead funding and flexibility for partners to invest in staffing, systems, and long-term planning, while supporting the design and implementation of structured capacity-development plans. By reinforcing national and local CSOs and institutional networks in this way, the programme scales up local delivery capacity and embeds improvements (in areas like child protection or workforce development) within communities long after individual projects end. This long-term investment strengthens local resilience and fosters institutional continuity, ensuring that progress made through RDPP remains impactful, even in evolving operational environments.
